The Kingsflame Costume Competition celebrates creativity, craftsmanship, and character. Visitors are invited to showcase their festival outfits, whether they are handmade creations, historically inspired garments, or carefully assembled looks built from simple pieces.
Do I Need a Costume for Kingsflame?
No. A costume is not required to attend the festival or to take part. Kingsflame welcomes visitors whether they arrive in full medieval dress or simply wearing clothing inspired by the English countryside. Natural fabrics, earthy colours, comfortable layers, and handcrafted details are all great ways to join the atmosphere of the festival.
The most important thing is to feel comfortable and enjoy the experience.

If you would like inspiration for your outfit, our Festival Lookbook covers everything from practical countryside dress to more formal court and ceremony looks, warrior-inspired outfits, and accessory ideas. Festival traders will also offer clothing, accessories, and handmade goods throughout the weekend, so you can complete your look while exploring the site.
